COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY

Collagen Induction Therapy has a long history, dating back to Ancient Chinese Acupuncture and now you can find it here just outside Toronto in the GTA. The first recorded use of a microneedling procedure was in the early 1900s by a German Dermatologist to treat hyperpigmentation, scars, and birthmarks. Microneedling devices called Dermarollers as we know them today, have been used for modern aesthetic purposes since the 1990s. Since then we have a wide array of microneedling devices that perform much better and safer than a derma-roller. Varying in methods, these procedures all share the same goal: to induce collagen production.

By using tiny pricks, microneedling procedures stimulate the body’s own natural healing process by inducing production of growth factors, collagen and elastin. Damaged skin cells are rejuvenated, as the skin grows back smoother, firmer and more even in tone and texture. The end result is a total skin transformation.

This works for acne scars, hyperpigmentation, sagging skin, fine lines and wrinkles, tech neck, crepe texture, and any other colour or texture-related concern on face, neck, declotte, and body.

How does Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) work?

Collagen Induction Therapy is procedure which uses the microneedling technique- we use tiny, sharp, sterile needles to prick the skin. Its purpose is to generate new collagen and skin tissue for tighter, smoother, firmer, even-tone  skin. By creating micro-injuries to the skin, it stimulates its natural ability to repair itself, and generate healthier, younger-appearing skin. The upper layer (epidermis) of the skin receives tiny, micro holes that pierce down from 0.25mm to a depth of 2.5mm. In most cases, target concerns do not need to exceed 1.0mm but it depends largely on what you’re
targeting.

Your body reacts to these micro-channels or holes by signaling to your skin that it needs to repair itself. This then kickstarts and boosts the production of more collagen and elastin in your skin and initiates the healing process. The excess elastin and collagen are great for your skin, helping not only to close the micro-holes, but also to smoothen out the texture, as well as minimize fine
lines and wrinkles. Depending on the condition of your skin, these results might be major or might only be slightly noticeable.

Collagen Induction Therapy is usually conducted by numbing the skin so that there is no discomfort from the needles which are being pierced into the skin. Therefore, the process is completely non-invasive and has minimal discomfort associated with it and very short downtime.

We have the safest technology on the planet to perform Collagen Induction
Therapy: The SkinPen- the first and only device both FDA approved and Health Canada approved with C.E. mark and I.S.O. certifications from around the world. The SkinPen uses "one time use only " needle cartridges to ensure they are sterile for each patient. Other microneedling devices can reuse needle tips and can lead to needle dullness, ineffective treatments and infections. SkinPen needles can also be adjusted in length to suit each clients’ individual needs on the face and body.

The SkinPen is a microneedling pen- a state-of-the-art tool which has taken over from ‘dermaroller’ devices. Microneedling pens are more favoured in the medical cosmetic industry as they are more precise than the rollers, making them a better choice to treat specific targets and glide over the skin. By penetrating vertically, they have less of a chance of causing unnecessary damage to
the skin than rollers, which penetrate the skin on an angle.

The SkinPen delivers the MOST microchannels to give you the MOST stimulated wove collagen for the greatest results in the shortest amount of time. This is a high performance collagen induction device.
