Fat Dissolving Treatments are a non-surgical way of eliminating fat cells permanently. This treatment is often nicknamed "liquid Lipo". Most commonly known as Kybella or Belkyra. The substance responsible for Fat Dissolving is called Deoxycholic Acid. Deoxycholic acid mimics our body's own natural enzymes that breakdown and digest fat (cholic acid).
WHAT CAN YOU TREAT?
Fat Dissolving Treatments are indicated for stubborn fat pockets under the chin. Skinfidelity also treats off-label parts of the body like the stomach, bra line, upper arms, and love handles. Off-label means these areas are not advertised areas to be treated by Kybella or Belkyra. These areas must be performed with an experienced professional.
WHO IS A GOOD CANIDATE?
Anyone 18 years of age and older who is in overall good health. There must be no active sores or infection present in the area to be treated. Individuals should not be pregnant, trying to get pregnant or breastfeeding. Caution is advised to individuals with bleeding or blood disorders, autoimmune disorders and diabetes as this may affect your healing. Off-label fat dissolving is not recommended for anyone with a BMI outside the normal range as results may be less than satisfactory.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
The average candidate requires 2-3 sessions to reach their goals. Fat loss is permanent.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS? HOW OFTEN CAN I COME?
Results peak 4-6 weeks after treatment. You can come as early as 4 weeks atter your last session.
We recommend waiting 6-8 weeks after treatment when the results have already peaked. You can space out your treatments as far as you want... it won't impact the fat dissolved.
IS IT PAINFUL?
There is some degree of discomfort. This is permanent fat death without surgery. You are given topical numbing and may not even feel the prick of a needle. Most people rate discomfort 2-6 out of 10 after injection. Some people describe the injections as bee stings and others as an annoying burning sensation. After 15 minutes the discomfort reduces but lingers as a very mild tenderness to the next few days similar to a bruise.
WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?
You can return to normal activities as soon as you feel comfortable. The biggest drawback is visible swelling which is most noticeable during the first 3-4 days. Afterwards it can be more easily hidden as the swelling gradually reduces everyday. We offer support, advice and tips to keep everyone relaxed and comfortable during their dissolving experience. Most people resume exercise 1-2 weeks after treatment when the swelling isn't notable.
