Sclerotherapy is an injectable treatment for spider veins and small veins. Using a very fine needle, a solution is injected directly into the vein, which helps it gradually close and fade as your body naturally clears it away.
Spider veins are common and can appear for many reasons, including genetics, hormones and time spent on your feet. For some people they are simply a cosmetic concern; for others they can feel achy or uncomfortable. Every treatment begins with a consultation, so we can look at your veins, talk about your goals and recommend the approach that suits you.

For leg vessel clearance, we also use laser at our Mississauga location. Sclerotherapy suits many small spider veins, while laser can help with very fine vessels or those that are difficult to treat with a needle. After assessing your skin and veins, we’ll recommend sclerotherapy, laser or a combination of the two.
Treated veins usually fade gradually over several weeks, and many people benefit from more than one session. Results vary from person to person, and because new veins can form over time, some people choose occasional maintenance treatments.
What is Sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive injectable treatment. A small amount of solution is injected into spider veins or small veins with a very fine needle. The solution irritates the lining of the vein so it seals closed, and over the following weeks the body gradually reabsorbs it, helping the vein fade from view.
The number of injections depends on how many veins are being treated. Afterward, you may be asked to wear compression stockings for a short time to support healing. Sclerotherapy is most often used on the legs; for some vessels, including those on the face, laser may be a better fit, and we offer laser at our Mississauga clinic.
