Sunken Temples

Sunken temples, also called hollow temples, are common in almost everyone as we age. What happens is our soft tissue and bone start to dissolve, while the muscle and connective tissues change.
How we treat it
When we lose structural support in the temple area, we start to see folds and wrinkles. As we loose volume in this space between the corner of our eyes and our hairlines, the hollowing causes the brows to drop, resulting in a more gaunt appearance. Age is the most common culprit of sunken temples, yet some people choose to enhance their temples because the natural structure of their face never had much lift in this area.

We use dermal fillers to inject the temples with a substance to replace the area’s natural volume and lift the eyebrows. Typically, we use hyaluronic acid, a smooth and volumizing substance which already exists in the skin.
After your filler treatment, the affects will be noticeable immediately. It is normal to have some bruising and swelling occur for 2-3 days after the treatment, therefore we recommend using ice to bring down the swelling and using acetaminophen if necessary.
