Filler that didn't turn out as planned is more common than you might think. Maybe it was placed too heavily, it has moved over time, or it simply isn't the look you want anymore. Whatever happened, there's no judgment here, just an honest plan to help you feel like yourself again. Master Nurse Injector Shelby Hall regularly helps clients correct filler done elsewhere, and this guide explains how filler dissolving works for clients in Mississauga, Oakville and Kleinburg.
Correction isn't about starting over with more product. It's about clearing what doesn't belong and restoring your natural proportions first.
What Affects the Cost of Filler Dissolving?
Cost depends on how much filler is present, how many areas are involved and whether more than one session is needed. Because every plan is tailored, we don't quote a one-size-fits-all price. Instead, you'll receive a personalized quote at your complimentary consultation, after we've assessed what you actually need. Sometimes the most conservative plan is also the simplest one.
Common Filler Concerns We Correct
- An overfilled or "pillow face" appearance
- Lumps, bumps or uneven texture
- Filler that has migrated, such as a "filler mustache" above the lip line
- Asymmetry between treated areas
- Filler placed in the wrong area, or poor technique from a previous provider
- Puffiness or a blue tint under the eyes
- A change in your aesthetic goals, or simply wanting your natural look back
Urgent concerns about blood flow after a filler treatment need prompt medical attention. Contact the provider who treated you or seek medical care right away.
Why Filler Migrates
The word "migration" can make it sound as if filler has a mind of its own, but that isn't the case. Filler moving away from where it was placed is usually linked to product choice, technique, the injector's experience and the amount used. Frequent muscle movement, pressure and gravity can also play a part. Hyaluronic acid fillers can also last longer in the body than many people expect, so repeated top-ups can gradually build up over the years.
With lips, an early sign can be a loss of definition at the lip border or fullness creeping into the upper lip. In the face, it can be harder to spot: many people simply feel puffier or that they "don't look the same". You can read more on our migrated filler page.
How Filler Dissolving Works
Most dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, which can be broken down with an enzyme called hyaluronidase.
- Assessment: we look closely at the area, ask about your previous treatment and talk through your goals.
- Dissolving: hyaluronidase is carefully injected into the area of concern.
- Breakdown: the enzyme starts working right away so your body can clear the old filler.
- Rebuild, if you want: once the area settles, we can restore volume with a lighter, more natural approach. There's no pressure to re-treat.
Correction Done With Care
Correcting filler takes skill, patience and an eye for natural facial balance. We dissolve only where it's needed and plan any rebuild around your anatomy. Typical corrections include softening heavy cheek filler, clearing and rebuilding old lip filler, and fixing a lip "shelf" caused by migration.
Our Approach: Holistic, Tailored and Naturally Advanced
At SKINFIDELITY, our philosophy is simple: Holistic Approach, Results that Enhance. Every treatment starts with an assessment and a plan, not a product. There's no one-size-fits-all here. We take a conservative approach, recommending only what will genuinely help, and the goal is always a natural result that looks like you.
Shelby assesses the face holistically. Rather than treating isolated spots, she looks at overall balance and proportion and how each area relates to the others: how the cheeks support the under-eyes, how the jawline frames the lower face, how the lips sit with the chin and nose. A concern in one area is often best addressed somewhere else, and sometimes the most natural result comes from doing less.
A large part of our work is corrective. We regularly see clients with over-filled, migrated or unbalanced results from treatments done elsewhere, and helping them get back to a natural look has shaped how carefully we treat everyone. We build gradually, respect your anatomy and would always rather add a little more at a follow-up than take too much away from what makes your face yours.
Who Is (and Isn't) a Good Candidate
We're selective about who we treat, and we decide carefully what's appropriate for each person. A treatment being popular doesn't make it right for you.
Often a good fit
- Over-filled, lumpy, migrated or asymmetric hyaluronic acid filler
- You want to return to a more natural look
May not be the right fit
- Known allergy to hyaluronidase or its components
- Non-hyaluronic acid fillers, which this enzyme can't dissolve
- Concerns better addressed by waiting for swelling to settle
Honestly, a consultation may end with a recommendation for a different treatment, or for no treatment at all. If we don't think something will help you, we'll say so.
Questions to Ask Before Any Treatment
Wherever you choose to go, it's worth asking a few questions first. Who will perform my treatment, and what are their qualifications? Is there medical oversight? What results are realistic for me, and what are the possible side effects? What aftercare will I need, and who do I contact if I have concerns afterwards? A good clinic will welcome these questions and answer them clearly, without rushing you into a decision. If something feels like a hard sell, it's fine to take your time.
Why Choose SKINFIDELITY
SKINFIDELITY is led by Master Nurse Injector Shelby Hall, who has worked exclusively in medical aesthetics since 2015 and founded the clinic in 2018. Every treatment plan has Medical Director oversight. Our approach is calm and honest: we listen first, assess your skin and goals, and recommend only what we believe will help. There's never any pressure to book more than you need.

Preparing for Your First Visit
To get the most from your consultation, bring a list of your current medications and supplements, any allergies, and details of treatments you've had before (including where, when and what was used, if you know). It also helps to share your skincare routine and a few words about what's bothering you most. Photos of how you looked a few years ago can help too. Most importantly, come with your questions. Your appointment is a two-way conversation, and the plan we build together should make sense to you before anything begins.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can all fillers be dissolved?
Hyaluronidase works on hyaluronic acid fillers, the most common type. Some other fillers can't be dissolved this way. If you're unsure what you had, we'll help you work it out.
How quickly does it work?
The enzyme starts working right away. Many clients notice a difference within a few days as swelling settles.
Will I need more than one session?
Sometimes. It depends on how much filler is present and how long it has been there. We'll tell you what to expect after your assessment.
Does it hurt?
Most clients feel a brief sting during the injections. Some temporary swelling or tenderness afterward is normal.
Is filler dissolving right for me?
It isn't suitable for everyone, for example if you have certain allergies. Every client is assessed by a licensed professional first.
