Surgical and traumatic scars
Scars from surgery, C-sections, accidents or injuries can stay raised, sunken, discoloured or tight long after the wound has healed. They can also be a reminder of a difficult time, so we take a gentle, personal approach.
SkinPen microneedling breaks up disorganised scar tissue and stimulates fresh collagen so the scar blends better with the surrounding skin. For thin or tight scars, skin boosters can add hydration and flexibility to the area.
Scars should be fully healed and mature before treatment, which usually means at least several months after surgery or injury. We will confirm timing at your assessment.

Good questions
Can you treat keloid scars?
Keloid and very raised scars need a different approach. We will assess the scar and refer you to a physician if it is not suitable for microneedling.
How soon after surgery can I start?
Usually once the scar has fully closed and matured, often six months or more after surgery. Your surgeon's advice comes first.
Is there downtime?
Expect redness similar to a mild sunburn for one to three days. Most clients return to work the next day, and makeup can usually be worn after 24 hours.
